In this large and atmospheric painting, two boats lay at rest in the sandy grassland on the coast in the foreground of the painting. Beyond lies a tranquil sea, and dominating the top half of the painting is a sweeping expanse of a cloudy sky.
The painting overflows with a sense of calm and serenity, brought forth through the use of delicate unrestrained brushstrokes, and well a gentle colour palette with soft hues.
This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary champagne gilt frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
