An engaging and powerful abstract composition by British contemporary artist Lloyd Durling, executed in graphite, oil pastel, and oil stick on Arches paper, and dated 2022.

This painting embodies a quiet elegance, using abstraction and simplicity to convey a still-life scene with a sense of balance and calm. The muted colors, soft textures, and minimalist approach create a meditative, timeless quality, inviting viewers to appreciate the beauty of everyday objects in a stripped-down, essential form.

Lloyd is based in London and his practice is painting-based. His first international solo show was in 2010 at Golden in Chicago and he has exhibited widely throughout Europe, Asia and the US. In 2017 he was awarded a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant. Lloyd’s works are held in public and private collections worldwide, including the Whitworth Art Gallery and Museum, Progressive collection, America and Nomura Bank, Japan.

This painting is mounted and presented in a light wood frame, behind glass. Both painting and frame are in excellent condition.
