A grouping of 9 lusciously red apples sit against an abstract backdrop, our eyes drawn to their richness against the more diaphanous pinky blue background. The apples appear to be in their positions by chance, but yet it is almost certain that the artist has carefully considered their arrangement, creating a composition that has a lovely rhythm and excellent balance. The background is had been painted in an expressive manner, with loose brushstrokes creating a light and atmospheric scene, further accentuating the vividness of the apples.
This oil on canvas is housed in a very well suited slim gold frame, which illuminates the painting beautifully. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
