A captivating impressionist style mid century winter landscape composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

Simple yet characterful in its composition, the painting presents a misty winter scene where 2 trees on a snow-filled landscape are standing proud by the edge of river bank, and their reflections are cast on the water’s surface. In the background of the painting, we can spot a grey area that we can infer to be a forest in the hazy winter conditions.

The painting is composed with a restrained colour palette comprising shades of grey, brown and white –  which gives the works a quietness and stillness.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary wooden frame with several borders that give the painting a sense of depth. There is some scuffing to the frame in keeping with age. The painting is in excellent vintage condition.
