A playful modernist interior composition, painted in oil onto canvas, and dated 2012.

Featuring a striking and eye-catching colour palette, the artist has worked in a Naïve style, reminiscent of Modern British artists like Alfred Wallis. There is something very endearing about this painting, from its patterning and arrangement to its playfulness with scale. A patterned vase is at the forefront of this picture, and its patterns and colours echo the patterns and colours of the wall in the background. A voile curtain can be seen blowing inward, capturing the windyness of the seaside, the view of which is visible through the window.  We can see a little red and white sailing boat passing by. There is a sense of nostalgia and homeliness in the picture – that lovely feeling of living right by the sea.

The painting is on stretched canvas with edges painted, and can be hung as is without the need for a frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition.
