A large and captivating mid-century modernist geometric abstract painting, executed in oil onto canvas.

The composition features three nuns dressed in black and with triangular orange faces, walking down from an abstracted mountainous landscape. Their simplified geometric forms give them a strong sense of movement, guiding the viewer’s eye toward the background, which consists of rolling green hills, a blue sky, and a large, stark white and black architectural structure on the right.

Containing elements of geometric abstraction and cubism, the painting emphasises bold, angular forms and a structured composition. The artist has skilfully used a simplified, almost stained-glass-like approach to render the scene, with thick black outlines segmenting each shape.

This large oil on canvas is housed in a complementary wood frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
