An excellent and striking mid-century modernist style geometric abstract composition thats celebrates form and colour, executed in oil onto board.

The painting features an array of interlocking geometric shapes – rectangles, triangles, and circular forms – arranged in a dynamic interplay. Characterised by its abstraction, bold use of colour, and clean geometric lines, the composition is a vibrant exploration of form, colour, and balance.

The palette is rich and varied, featuring purples, greens, blues, warm yellows, and softer shades, all punctuated by the bold orange and red of the circles.

The brushstrokes are smooth and deliberate, adding depth and character to the flat planes of colour. The layering of paint suggests a thoughtful and methodical approach, with each shape carefully defined against its neighbours.

This oil on board is housed in a very well-suited wood frame with an inner linen and gilt border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition and has no paint loss. There appears to be some paint transfer which probably took place when the artist was working on the piece. The frame has some minor marks but is in very good condition too.
