A lively and captivating mid-century geometric abstract composition, executed in oil onto board by the established Swedish artist Edvard Andersson (1891-1967), who’s artworks have been represented in several prominent institutions across Malmö, Stockholm, Copenhagen, and also at Helsingborgs Museum.
The painting is filled with an array of geometric shapes painted in rich bold tones of brown, black, yellow, blue, and turquoise. These shapes collide and overlap, creating a rhythmic interplay across the surface.
Amidst the abstract nature of the painting, a subtle mask-like form, a building block, as well as silhouettes of figures emerge, adding a touch of mystery to the composition.
This oil on board is housed in a complementary slim wood frame. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
