A picturesque mid-century oil painting, that presents a panoramic landscape view of a river stream flowing through rolling hills.

Semi-abstract in nature, the artist has deconstructed this natural scene down into planes of contrasting colours, which demonstrates a sense of depth to the painting.

The colour palette used in the artwork is intentionally limited, consisting mainly of deep rich shades of green, blue, and orange.  The gentle sweeping brushstrokes and subdued hues contribute to the composition’s delicate atmosphere, invoking a sense of nostalgia and wonder.

Another distinctive feature of the artwork is the unique use of a striking orange outline that surrounds the various forms present in the scene. This bold choice serves to emphasise the shapes and contours of the landscape elements, while simultaneously infusing them with a luminous radiance.

This oil on board is housed in a very attractive deep profile distressed gilt frame. There is some light scuffing to the frame, but this is in keeping with the distressed style and overall the frame and painting are in very good vintage condition.
