A peaceful and very atmospheric modernist coastal landscape, executed in oil onto canvas.

In this picturesque composition, a winding road lined with houses surround costal cliffs and an ocean that leads to the horizon.

This painting is very balanced with a mix of moody darker shades used to paint the cliffs, houses and land area, contrasting against paler lighter colours of the sky, sea and road. We could perhaps infer that it is early in the morning, before the sun has risen fully.

Gentle painterly brushstrokes have been applied to create this modernist composition, and it wonderfully captures the quietude and serenity of nature.

This oil on canvas is housed in a stunning wooden frame with an inner silver window. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
