A brilliantly executed mid-century figurative abstract composition, painted in oil onto board and dated 1967 on reverse.

Abstract in nature, the composition features the silhouettes of three discernible figures, delicately outlined partially in thin emerald lines, and set against a warm yellow backdrop.

The artist skillfully executes layers of yellow and grey and splashes of colour, and the overall colour effect and textural quality evoke a sense of transience and contribute to the melancholic ambiance.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary wood frame with an inner linen border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has slight widening to its bottom left joint but this has been previously stabilised.
