A brilliantly executed mid-century figurative composition, executed in oil onto board.

At the center of the composition stand two figures, stripped down to their fundamental essence. Painted in an abstract manner, the artist has deconstructed their forms into geometric blocks of contrasting colours, and overlaying distinct patterned lines that flow in various directions. These lines, created with confident brushstrokes, hint at movement and dynamism while simultaneously emphasising the flatness of the canvas. The deliberate absence of recognisable features encourages the viewer to focus on the energy and emotion conveyed through the interplay of shapes, lines, and colours.

The background serves as a bold stage for the figures, also composed of blocks of rich colours that interact with each other. These colour blocks create a sense of depth and enhance the overall visual impact of the composition.

This oil on board is housed in a slim wood frame with a black inner window. There is some very minor wear to the painting and frame, commensurate with age, but overall the appearance is still very good.
