A brilliantly executed mid-century portrait, executed in oil onto canvas by the established Swedish artist Fabian Lundqvist (1913-1989), whose works have been represented in many public collections in Sweden.

The composition centers around a female figure stylishly dressed in a patterned clothing with intricate detailing, as well as a matching hat. She stands elegantly, holding an orange flower in her hand that matches her necklace, and her head is turned to the side. In the background, the artist has purposely simplified and reduced the architectural details of her surroundings into blocks of contrasting shades of brown.

The artist’s brushstrokes are gentle and soft, reflecting a careful attention to detail and a desire to capture the quiet beauty of the moment. Intentionally working with a limited colour palette comprising subdued muted shades of brown, orange, and taupe, the painting creates a nostalgic and mysterious atmosphere.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary ridged silver frame. There are some very light surface marks to the lower section of the painting (as shown) but otherwise, it is in good vintage condition. The frame has some wear to its edges.
