A subtle and outstanding mid-century figurative painting, executed in oil onto canvas by the established Swedish artist Fabian Lundqvist (1913-1989), whose works have been represented in many public collections in Sweden.

Upon first glance, our eyes are drawn to the three female figures that punctuate the foreground of the painting. The women are depicted in dark brown attire, which contrasts with the lighter tones of the surrounding environment, and they each appear to be engaged in their own activity. Behind them, the composition showcases rows of white buildings of differing heights.

The artist has used gentle and muted hues of white, taupe, and dusty pink. These soft colours add a touch of warmth and contribute to the tranquil ambiance.

The brushstrokes in the painting are characterised by their soft and delicate nature, as the artist has employed detailed brushstrokes, emphasising precision.
