Although the painting’s subject matter appears to be abstract in nature and with a strong focus on colour, brushstrokes and line, we can perhaps discern a portrait in the making.

Broad and painterly brushstrokes have been very swiftly, adding dynamism to the piece. Th way that the artist has skilfully selected and layered the rich and saturated colours to form this composition and to add a textural feel is simply outstanding.

This painting is housed in its original mid-century champagne gilt frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
