A soothing and evocative mid-century abstract coastal landscape that captures the quiet beauty of a shoreline, painted in oil onto canvas and dated 1960.

The composition is divided into layered horizontal bands, suggesting the sea, sky, and land. The horizon line is subtly softened, creating a sense of depth and atmospheric perspective.

The artist has used a muted palette, comprising of cool blues and greys dominating the upper section to represent the sky and distant sea, while the middle ground features off-whites and sandy beiges, suggesting a shoreline. The foreground contrasts with deep browns and blacks, adding depth and grounding the composition.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary silver frame with an inner linen lining. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has  some scuffing at its top left corner.
