A nostalgic and subdued mid-century modernist style composition, executed in oil onto canvas by the established Swedish artist Fabian Lundqvist (1913-1989), whose works have been represented in many public collections in Sweden.

The painting depicts three figures, set against a landscape with scattered trees, and under a glowing dusk sky. Two figures wear patterned clothing and the female figure in the middle is holding a bright bouquet of yellow flowers that contrasts with the muted palette.

The colour palette is restrained, revolving around warm tones of browns, oranges and yellow, paired with accents like the bright orange sky and yellow flowers. The subdued colours evoke a sense of nostalgia and calm, while the interplay of tones adds depth to the scene.

The brushstrokes are soft and gentle, contributing to the smoothness of the surface and imbuing a soothing quality throughout the artwork.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary silver frame with an inner linen border. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
