In this mid-century modernist style composition executed in oil onto board and dated 1956, the artist captures a scene of landscape by a coast using a semi-abstract approach.

The foreground showcases a lush landscape dominated by simplified forms of trees, their shapes reduced to blocks of contrasting muted green shades. The background reveals a sea, rendered in similarly muted blue hues.

The artist employs short, expressive brushstrokes to convey energy and depth, skilfully balancing the composition without relying on any realistic details.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary frame with gold leaf. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some scuffs but this is in keeping with its vintage look.
