Painted with a modernist ethos, the artist has skillfully deconstructed the scene down to distinct blocks of contrasting shades.

The limited and muted colour palette, predominantly consisting of shades of greens and browns, evokes a warm and nostalgic atmosphere. And the short and expressive brushstrokes add a light textural quality to the painting.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary gilt frame with an inner linen lining. The painting has two abrasion marks at its top half, but it is overall in good vintage condition. The frame has some paint losses at its corners, as shown.
