A captivating geometric abstraction composition entitled ‘By the Bath’,  executed in oil onto canvas and painted in the 1970s.

The composition centers around a shower setting where we can spot a towel hanging nearby. The artist has skillfully deconstructed and simplified the scene into a series of interlocking shapes, each defined by contrasting colours. The blocks are arranged in a way that creates a sense of balance and harmony, guiding the viewer’s eye through the painting.

The colour palette features muted pastel shades, giving the piece a soft, calming atmosphere. Despite the simplicity of the shapes, the careful choice of colours and their placement convey depth and a subtle narrative.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary wood frame with an inner gilt window. Both the painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
