This painting  showcases Durling’s signature abstract style—textured, atmospheric, and intuitively composed. It feels like a landscape in dream fragments, full of soft mystery and emotional undercurrents.

Thick, expressive brushstrokes dominate the surface. The impasto technique (built-up paint) adds a tactile richness, inviting you not just to see the painting, but to almost feel it.

Muted creams, cool greys, and powdery blues provide a soft base, broken by bold accents—a vivid orange shape, a lemon yellow, and patches of deep forest green. These pops of color create visual rhythm, like beats in a calm but layered melody.

This impasto painting is mounted a dark stained oak frame. The dark wooden frame adds earthiness and grounding to the otherwise ethereal composition. It contrasts beautifully with the soft light tones, allowing the painting’s subtle dynamism to stand out.

Both painting and frame are in excellent condition.

Lloyd is based in London and his practice is painting-based. His first international solo show was in 2010 at Golden in Chicago and he has exhibited widely throughout Europe, Asia and the US. In 2017 he was awarded a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant. Lloyd’s works are held in public and private collections worldwide, including the Whitworth Art Gallery and Museum, Progressive collection, America and Nomura Bank, Japan.
