Along the Blue Coast

A charming mid-century modernist landscape that distils a coastal scene into a series of simplified shapes and harmonious colour fields, executed in oil onto canvas.

The artist employs a distinctly modernist approach, favouring flat planes of colour over detailed representation. Houses emerge from the landscape as geometric forms, their pale facades and muted terracotta roofs nestled amongst rounded masses of foliage. This oil on canvas is presented in a complementary slim cream-painted wood frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some scuffs and marks.
