A beautifully textured mid-century landscape composition that captures the beauty of the natural world rendered in abstract form, painted in oil onto canvas and dated 1959 in Roman numerals.

Abstract in nature, the painting has been divided and reduced into distinct blocks of contrasting colours. In the foreground, we can discern greenery with crops and trees. Behind them, fields of gold stretch into the distance.

The artist has used a soothing soothing and atmospheric palette comprising shades of soft yellow and green.

Powerful brushstrokes have been executed with vigour and confidence, imbuing the scene with a dynamic quality, as if the landscape itself is alive with vitality, as also imparting a tactile quality.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary wood frame with an inner white window.  Both painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
