A large and striking mid-century abstract composition, executed in oil on canvas and dated 1970.

Broad, short, and expressive brushstrokes in an array of colours that have been swiftly applied to the canvas make up this painting. Although its subject matter appears to be entirely abstract, a town by a coast is just discernible as the artist has reduced its form down to coloured shapes and strokes.

The artist has used an array of muted colours that harmonise wonderfully together, and there is a very satisfying rhythm and dynamism to the abstract composition.

This large oil on canvas is housed in a complementary slim wood frame. There are some very minor marks to the top half of painting as shown, and the frame is in very good vintage condition.
