Abacus (Large Floor Standing)

A wonderfully unusual large vintage wooden abacus, full of rustic charm and character. Standing on two chunky wooden feet, this oversized counting frame features ten rows of beautifully weathered wooden beads threaded onto aged metal rods.
The solid timber frame has a lovely timeworn patina, with visible grain, marks and imperfections that speak to its age and history. The beads themselves have a wonderfully tactile quality, each one slightly different from the next, with years of wear giving them a soft, faded finish.
Both sculptural and functional, this is the sort of object that makes you stop and take a closer look. It would make a fantastic statement piece in a living room, study or creative space, adding warmth, texture and a little bit of curiosity to an interior.
It is in good vintage condition, with plenty of age-related wear, patina and character throughout, all of which contribute to its charm.
