The lower half of the painting is dominated by a vast expanse of lush greenery. In the distance, we can spot a row of houses including a big farmhouse on the right that is partially obscured by rich foliage, as well as a prominent windmill.
The artist has wonderfully managed to capture the moody atmospheric conditions at dusk through the use of a dark rich and earthy colour palette as well as expressive brushstrokes.
This oil on board is housed in an attractive multi window silver and linen detail frame. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
