At the heart of the composition stands a vase of flowers. Through the use of expressive brushwork and a limited colour palette, its form is delineated by sweeping swathes of paint in varying shades of green, blue, and white.
Semi-abstract in nature, realistic details have been omitted, bringing our focus to the strong interplay of colour and texture. The artist’s brush swiftly and confidently moves across the board, infusing each stroke with vitality and emotion, and imbuing the work with a lovely tactile quality.
This oil on board is housed in a complementary gilt frame. The painting is in very good vintage condition. There are some scuffs to the frame edges.
