A richly coloured mid century expressionist oil, painted onto board and framed beautifully.

In this landscape composition we see a wonderful array of non-naturalistic colours in a rich and intense palette. The artist is perhaps conveying his emotional response to the view before him, capturing the warm hues as the light envelopes the land. The composition is highly balanced, with trees framing either side of the canvas and a tall building as a focal point. Behind the townscape we see rolling hills in deep shades of purple and brown. The painting has a very uplifting quality about it, and would certainly add character and a pop of colour to any interior space.

This oil on board is housed in a well-suited wood frame with an inner linen-lined border. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
