A brilliant mid-century figurative composition, executed in oil onto canvas by the established Swedish artist Fabian Lundqvist (1913-1989), whose works have been represented in many public collections in Sweden.

The painting captures a scene of standing figures, with the sun shining above them. On the left, we see a close-up of a female figure with a straight-faced expression. She is adorned in a patterned dress, and her face is partially cast with a shadow. On the right, two slender and elongated male figures are depicted walking toward the direction of the female in the foreground.

The artist’s brushstrokes are gentle, soft, and precise, reflecting a careful attention to detail. The overall muted and earthy colours create a subdued and warmth atmosphere. The lady’s small and striking red lips and the large, flat, curved shapes in the composition are typical of the artist Lundqvist’s style.

This oil on canvas come unframed, and is in very good vintage condition.
