A striking and richly coloured mid-century still life painting, executed in oil onto board.

The composition presents an interior setting with a table beside a window. A group of objects are laid across the table, including a bowl of pears, some tulips in a jug, as well as some apples.

The painting emanates a sense of richness and saturation through the use of intense and bold colours including shades of green, orange, red, and blue. The use of expressive brushstrokes and the confident application of paint infuse the painting with a sense of energy. The artist has also skillfully employed the use of colour gradient to demonstrate the objects’ three-dimensional qualities.

This oil on board is housed in a beautiful gilt frame with a linen border that has been painted gold. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
