A striking mid-century modernist style scene in a train, executed in oil onto canvas.

The composition portrays a train journey, with a train carriage filled with passengers, all depicted as black silhouettes. The artist has deliberately omitted their facial features, leaving only the contours of their bodies and some nuances such as a green hat and book reading to convey their personalities.

The artist has taken a bold approach, using contrasting elements to create a sense of mystery and intrigue. The bright orange seats stand out prominently against the dark silhouettes, creating a vivid and visually arresting contrast.

This oil on canvas is housed in a wide-profiled dark wood frame.  The painting has light craquelure present to its left side, but the paint layer is stable overall. The frame has a tiny nick to its lower right corner, as shown.
