A brilliantly executed mid century modernist interior scene, painted in oil onto board by Swedish artist Kurt Lindon (1910-1985), whose works can be found in the collections at the  Stockholm City Museum, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Gothenburg Art Museum, Linköping Museum, Östersund Museum, Norrköping Art Museum, and the Borås Art Museum

Presenting a kitchen interior scene, this painting offers a myriad of details to explore and take in. There is a warmth and homeliness to this kitchen, which we get a sense of through details like the potted plants, wooden beams on the ceiling, and the mug on the table which makes us feel like someone has just been in the kitchen and has left for a moment, to return again soon. From an artistic perspective, there is great balance to the composition of this piece. Modernist elements such as a focus on form, line and pattern are echoed throughout the painting. The palette is rich and earthy, and the surface of the painting is textured with its brushwork.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has very marks and scuffs.
