A very large and impactful mid century oil, painted on canvas. Painted with a modernist ethos, the artist has used flat planes of contrasting colour to create a sense of space and depth. Realistic details have been intentionally left out, and the artist has chosen to focus instead on shape, form and colour. Two figures stand in front of a group of village houses, which are flanked by trees on either side. The composition is very well balanced and a real pleasure to admire, both from afar and close up, offering layers of complexity both in terms of colour and structure.

This wonderful painting is framed in its original large mid century frame, with a hessian lined outer section and an inner silver window. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some scuffs to the inner silver section.
