An excellently executed mid century abstract oil, framed in its original wood frame.

Expressive brushwork is combined with areas of sgraffito (where the artist has used a tool to scratch into the paint) creating a range of textures as well as varying levels of depth. The restrained colour palette as well as discernible differences in methods of paint application give this painting its very raw, organic quality. Despite its abstract composition, we get a sense that the artist was inspired a connection to the natural landscape and terrain.

The painting is housed in a simple wood frame, which complements it excellently. This oil painting has been executed on a canvas sheet, that has been laid on board. Although the edges of the canvas are visible, the painting is in good vintage condition. The frame has some minor scuffs, commensurate with age.
