An inviting and elegant still-life composition, executed in gouache and dated 1958.

In a well-decorated interior space, a table setting that is adorned with an assortment of carefully arranged objects punctuates the centre of the composition. This includes a teapot, a lamp, and a plate of fruit.

We see the artist’s use of gentle brushstrokes, as well as an uplifting mix of soft pastel tones that blend seamlessly together creates an atmosphere of calm and serenity.

This gouache on card is housed in very well-suited wood frame with visible grain, and is glazed (there is a layer of glass between the frame and the painting to ensure its longevity). The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has slight wear to the linen border on its lower edge, as shown in the close up. Please not that there the photos contain some glare due to the glass.
