A lively and expressive mid-century still life composition, executed in watercolour and gouache onto paper.

The painting depicts an interior setting featuring an array of objects including some pitches, bottles, and a white tablecloth spread out across a slanting table.

The artist displays his mastery in the medium of watercolour, skilfully building up layers of contrasting colours to add depth and complexity to the work, as well as to create subtle shifts in colour and tonal value. Brushstrokes are evident in this work, adding an expressive quality and visual interest to the painting.

This watercolour and gouache on paper is housed in a slim cream wood frame with a mount card, and is glazed (there is a layer of glass between the frame and the painting to ensure its longevity). The painting is in very good vintage condition. There is slight age toning to the card mount but both frame and mount are in good condition overall.
