A vibrant and striking mid-century street scene composition, executed in oil onto board.

Two figures are depicted strolling on a pathway, seemingly leaving a grand church in the background. They are surrounded by buildings on either side of the street walk, and we can also spot a lush fruiting tree.

Containing elements of fauvism, the artist has employed the expressive use of bold and saturated colours to evoke emotions and create visual impact, as well as fierce and energetic brushwork that imbues the work with a sense of dynamism.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary gilt frame with an inner linen border. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
