A mid century modernist street scene composition, painted in oil onto board and dated 1946.

Inscribed ‘Paris’ to the lower right corner, this peaceful composition features a street framed by a tall building to the left and houses and trees to the right. Using a subdued palette and focusing on shape and form, the artist has created this quiet scene of a street in Paris. Broad and distinct brushstrokes can be seen, and forms have been carefully arranged on contrasting colours to create a sense of depth within the composition.

This oil on board is housed in a really lovely wood frame with visible grain. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some widening to its corner joins as shown.
