A tranquil and panoramic lake scene, painted in oil onto board. Confident, expressive brushstrokes in rich colours have been applied to create this painting of a lake by a forest. The water lies still and calm, allowing the reflection of the trees to be cast beautifully on the waters, creating a symmetrical effect. The artist has used several layers of colour as well as areas of impasto (where the paint is thickly applied such that it stands proud from the surface) to create texture and depth.

The painting is housed in a simple white wooden frame, and is in very good vintage condition.
