Seemingly simple yet very effective in its composition, the artist has abstracted the structures of the houses down into clean lines, and flat planes of colour. This undulating rhythm of the rooftops are contrasted against the pale blue of the sky, creating a brilliant balance in the composition.
This pastel on paper laid onto board is housed in a well-suited frame with an inner linen border, and is glazed (there is a layer of glass between the frame and the painting to ensure its longevity). Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
