A brilliantly executed mid-century modernist style still life composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

The painting features a brown table setting filled with an assortment of objects that have been thoughtfully arranged. This includes a red bowl, a bottle, and some fruit.

Areas of impasto are visible, where the paint has been painted thickly and we can see the directional strokes of the artist’s brush, creating a painterly effect. The texture of the painted surface also adds a three dimensional quality, as well as highlights the effect of light on the painting.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary wood frame with an inner linen border and gilt window. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some minor scuffing.
