A small yet characterful landscape painting depicting the Southern Alps in Provence , executed in oil in 1973.

In this picturesque view, mountains in the background and greenery in the foreground have been lined in an almost symmetrical fashion, making this composition highly well-balanced.

Semi-abstract in nature, this landscape scene has been simplified down to expressive broad brushstrokes and angular shapes. The artist has used a pastel colour palette to capture the peace and tranquillity of nature.

This oil has been mounted on panel which is surrounded by a simple white wood frame. Both frame and painting are in excellent vintage condition. Its small size would make it the perfect addition to a shelf, bookshelf or above a bed side table.
