A charming and inviting modernist-style composition, executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1969.

The painting presents a scene by a window, overlooking a winter landscape. The artist’s masterful brushstrokes beautifully capture the intricate patterns of delicate white lace curtains that gently drape down the large window.  Resting on the window sill are a few small objects including a cat, a cup, as well as some flower pots, each contributing to the composition’s charm. Beyond it, a mix of brown barren trees as well as tall trees adorned with green leaves are growing proudly, providing a vibrant contrast against the white snow-filled grounds.

The short, dab-like and expressive brushstrokes lend a transient and dynamic quality to the painting, as if capturing a fleeting moment in time. This technique enhances the scene’s ethereal atmosphere, inviting the viewer to pause and appreciate the beauty of the scenery.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary slim gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and there is light scuffing to frame edges.
