Picnic Under the Pines

A mid-century figurative painting that captures a lively outdoor gathering beneath two abstracted pine trees, rendered in bold, expressive forms, and  painted in oil onto board by the established Swedish female artist Brita Hansson (1918-1979).

At the center of the composition, a group of stylised figures sits together on what appears to be a picnic blanket, sharing a meal or conversation. Their forms are simplified yet evocative, outlined with fluid, gestural lines that emphasise connection and warmth.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary gilt frame. The painting is in execllent vintage condition, and the frame has very minor scuffs.
