A lively mid-century expressionist composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

Presenting an everyday scene of a charming neighbourhood filled with lush greenery and houses, we can spot a few figures engaging in various activities. In the center of the painting, a man standing with some goods placed on the ground around him. Behind him, a well-dressed man is a suit is standing beside a bicycle by a pole, and we can also spot a pair of figures strolling towards houses in the background of the painting.

The artist has used a combination of rich and uplifting earthy colours as well as short expressive brushstrokes to not only demonstrate a sense of depth and space to the painting, but to also wonderfully capture the liveliness of this neighbourhood.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary slim gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has very minor scuffs.
