A captivating and joyful mid-century modernist landscape painting, executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1961.

The composition unveils a picturesque valley adorned with an array of colourful trees. In the middle ground, majestic blue mountain tops rise, seamlessly blending into the light blue sky that evokes a serene atmosphere in the background.

Painted in a distinctly modernist ethos, the artist has reduced the composition down to blocks of contrasting colours to demonstrate  depth to the painting. He has also skillfully eliminated unnecessary details while emphasising the essence of the landscape.

A spectrum of uplifting colours as well as flat and gentle brushstrokes have been used, contributing to the overall sense of joy and optimism in this piece.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary slim gilt frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
