A soothing and elegant abstract composition in oil, painted in 1969.

This luxurious painting features soft, gentle colours, while still incorporating areas with great texture and depth. In the centre of the composition we have areas of impasto, where the paint has been thickly applied so its stands proud from the surface, creating an area of focus for the viewer. Our eyes are then gently led outwards towards to the more blended areas. Despite the composition not being of anything identifiable, this abstract piece has a very distinct emotional and aesthetic impact. We are encouraged to focus on the materiality of the paint, the colours, and the effect that has both visually and emotionally.

It is housed in a very complementary wood frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
