This very well executed painting is classical-style portrait of a woman shown in profile view, facing left. The subject has a composed expression, with carefully rendered facial features, especially her nose, lips, and eye. She wears a white headscarf with dabs of colour—blue, green, and red—adding liveliness to the otherwise muted colour palette.
The brushstrokes are expressive and textured, characteristic of an Impressionist or Post-Impressionist style, giving the portrait a spontaneous, almost sketch-like quality while still capturing the essence of the subject.
