A very well executed and playful modernist composition, painted in in oil onto canvas.
The painting has a very charming ‘Naïve’ quality to it – it is simple, minimalist and unaffected. The artist sticks to a restrained colour palette, setting 4 lemons and 2 white vessels against a background in subtle array of browns, pinks, and blues and greys. The painting is well balanced, has a depth of tones, and is a real pleasure to look it.
This oil on board is housed in a complementary slim gilt frame. The painting is in very good vintage condition. The frame has some minor scuffing to its corners, and is otherwise in very good condition.
