A quaint and vividly coloured mid century modernist landscape composition in oil, painted onto board.

Using a range of striking colours, the artist has captured a wonderful cottage nestled within a bay. Two sailboats can be seen out in the distance, floating on the blue waters. This picturesque scene been painted skilfully – the artist creates a sense of depth and panorama through the use of colours. Light colours get deeper and richer as we move inward, leading the eye deeper into the picture.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary wood and gilt frame with an inner linen lining. Both painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
